Nova vs Crayo

A Crayo alternative that also
clips real video

Crayo focuses on faceless text-to-short videos. Nova does that — paste a script, or the text of a Reddit thread, and get an AI voiceover over looping background footage with kinetic captions — and also clips your real long videos into captioned vertical shorts with AI moment detection. Two content engines, one tool.

Why creators switch to Nova

Faceless AND real clipping

Nova isn't only a faceless generator. Make narrated faceless shorts from text or Reddit, and also turn your podcasts, streams, and videos into captioned vertical clips — both in one place.

Reddit story to short in one paste

Paste the post's text and Nova narrates it in an AI voice over looping background footage, with captions timed word-by-word — no editor.

Questions? Answers.

Is Nova a good Crayo alternative?

Yes — Nova does the same faceless text/Reddit-to-short workflow (AI voiceover over looping gameplay with kinetic captions) and adds full AI clipping of real long videos, facecam-over-gameplay layouts, and an editable timeline export. Try both on the free plan.

Can Nova turn a Reddit thread into a video?

Yes — paste the post's text (title and body; Reddit blocks automatic link imports) and Nova narrates it in a chosen voice, and lays it over looping background footage with word-by-word captions. Your first faceless short is free — no card; after that, buy shorts in a pack or pick a plan.

Is there a free plan?

Yes — 30 minutes/month with no credit card. Paid plans are $29 (Pro) and $99 (Premium).
