# Call to action (CTA)

> The single action you ask a viewer to take — follow, comment, save, or click — usually at the payoff.

*Engagement*

*Also known as: CTA*

A call to action is the explicit ask at the end of (or within) a video: follow for more, comment your take, save this, or click the link. On short-form, one clear ask beats several — viewers act when they know exactly what to do next.

The strongest CTA ties to the value just delivered and uses the platform's native verbs. Generic 'like and subscribe' underperforms a specific ask that continues the moment.
